A woman who worked as a production contractor with the New York Streets Arena Football League team's dance squad has been charged with separate thefts during home games at the Westchester County Center totaling $4,000, police said.
Aniyah Booker, 18, of Hamden., Connecticut, was taken into custody on Thursday, July 25 following an investigation by detectives from the Westchester County Police General Investigations Unit. She is facing two misdemeanor larceny charges.
The first theft occurred Friday, July 5, Westchester County Police said. A member of the New York Streets reported that someone took about $1,000 in cash from her bag while it was left unattended in a changing room used by dance team members.
On Sunday, July 21, during the Streets' final home game of the season, members of the visiting Carolina Cobras football team reported that someone entered their locker room before halftime and removed cash and a ring from multiple lockers. The missing cash was estimated at about $3,000, police said.
Players did not return to the field for the second half after the thefts were discovered, according to a report by Metro New York. After a half-hour wait, fans were told to leave the County Center with the Cobras leading 46-0.

"I am thankful to the Westchester County Police for the swift investigation of this matter," New York Streets owner Corey Galloway said. "A game-day production hire, Aniyah Booker, been charged with the two recent thefts that occurred at the Westchester County Center at New York Streets home games.
"I am outraged by her actions and I fully support the criminal charges that were brought against her.
"Aniyah’s actions have caused serious damage to our team, our fans and the National Arena League. We expect she will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Booker was processed at county police headquarters and released on a desk appearance ticket requiring her to appear in White Plains City Court on Thursday, Aug. 8.
